The cost of living crisis is forcing more retirees back to work

42% of these “un-retirees” are in employment again as they struggle to pay the bills, but 36% are still not earning enough money to meet their needs. 

A survey by IAD estate agents of 1,156 people who had retired but have now returned to work showed 30% do so because they need the extra money. The survey found the most popular sector for this demographic was retail, most were working long hours with 32% on more than 30 hours a week, and 43% earning between £11,000 and £30,000.
